Problem
Labor shortages due to illness, quarantine, isolation periods, false alarms, death of loved ones, and the demands of the supply chain still having to provide more than expected in the past were among the major challenges faced in the Logistics business during the pandemic.
With the rise in e-commerce sales and the import and export of essential goods such as medical supplies, the supply chain industry was under immense pressure to deliver within the specified timelines with fewer resources to cope.
One of the main challenges faced by this Global Supplier, that is operating in three locations: Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, was the time wasted on manual operations.

Four processes were needed to be automated right away;

Soft Freight Logic identified the issues that the company was facing, and the highest business value requirement was to process Customs Invoices into the CargoWise system.
CargoWise One is an integrated system that can automate many business processes, but was limited to automating manual data entry.
This is when you realize that while technology can simplify operations, human interaction is still essential to keep the automation running.

Solution
With the Great Resignation looming, the client was unable to employ more staff and increase operating expenses, which could result in more staff turnover if mundane duties are kept within the company.
In January 2022, the client began using CargoDoc and RPA through our business process offshoring office with Soft Freight Logic to automate data entry into the CargoWise One system.
Processes that would take 3-4 hours could be completed in 2-3 minutes with 99% accuracy with CargoDoc.
