Super Cargo Case Study
PaperEntry AI successfully recognized information from documents and automatically entered it into the company’s information system, replacing manual data entry.
The adoption of the solution for the total volume of incoming documents helped Super Cargo maximize process efficiency.
In addition, the accuracy of the extracted information helped Super Cargo apply control rules that improved commercial practices and policies.

CHALLENGES
Super Cargo’s main problem was its inability to integrate electronically with suppliers, which was not technically feasible due to the fragmentation of the companies’ information systems.
Super Cargo received more than 4,000 fare invoices (purchases) every month. 40% of the data obtained was entered by Super Cargo has been entered automatically through interfaces and document management solutions.
Traditional Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) was not generally applicable when communicating and exchanging information between information systems (especially when the trading companies were from different countries and communication standards were unstable).
SUMMARY OF THE MAIN PROJECT REQUIREMENTS OF SUPER CARGO
Implementation time should not be over three months
Overall solution independent of the type of invoices
High accuracy of the extracted data
The Solution
PaperEntry AI was able to successfully extract information from multiple document types without relying on predefined document structure rules. With the implementation of PaperEntry AI, Super Cargo was able to automatically process all the invoices it received, resetting the manual entry of information and controlling the total of the fares issued by its partners/supplier.
The Implementation
Super Cargo (and its integration partner, Utilize) implemented an API to receive the documents and send the results. Utilize trained PaperEntry AI to understand and extract the data from the invoices. The data identified and sent to the Super Cargo information system included:
Port of departure and arrival
Date of departure and arrival
The license plate of the vehicle and the driver
Name and surname of the driver
Fare cost
Invoice number
Date of issue
Issuer and other information interested in Super Cargo
The identification, extraction, and exchange of the data was fully automated, and human intervention was needed only for review and issue identification/clarification.
